Babyproofing your house
By
the time your baby is crawling, you will need to have your house
baby-proofed. This can not only protect your breakables and other
important items, it can protect your baby from harm. The best way
to keep your baby safe in your home is to get on your knees and
crawl around the room.
Important items that top the list of things that should be baby-proofed
are: television and other appliance cords, miniblind strings, and
electrical outlets. While there are many other things in your house
that can provide harm to your baby, these are the ones that cause
the most household injuries in babies. Some, such as the string
on miniblinds, have been known to cause death.
This is why, no matter how much you think you will be able to simply
teach your baby to not touch harmful things, it is best and safest
to baby-proof your home properly.
