Having Sex During the Third Trimester

Having Sex During the Third Trimester of Pregnancy
Concerns
over sex during pregnancy are very common, especially for first-time
moms and their partners. But there is no need to declare celibacy
for nine months. In fact, a healthy sex life is very good for pregnant
women and, at some points of the pregnancy, can be more enjoyable
than ever.
As the uterus grows and becomes larger, couples
may need to exert some creativity, but there is nothing wrong with
love-making through even the third trimester, up until the woman’s
water breaks. There should be no sex after that point. Nothing should
enter the vagina, including water, after the water breaks. Up until
that point, though, couples can enjoy a healthy sex life as long
as there is no bleeding present. If bleeding occurs, it should be
discussed with an obstetrician.
