Drinking Diet Shakes While Pregnant

As
your tummy gets bigger, you may wish that there was something you
could do to slim down a bit. This may be even more of a concern
for you if you had any weight to lose before becoming pregnant.
Pregnancy, however, is not the time to shed any extra pounds. You
will gain weight while pregnant, but that is what is supposed to
happen. Dieting with shakes is no exception.
Diet shakes are also known as protein shakes.
While pregnant women should not replace their meals with them, there
is no problem with supplementing meals with diet shakes. They can
be a great source of protein and make a great snack. Be aware, though,
that some protein shakes are specifically marketed to bodybuilders.
These types of shakes should be avoided because they are often made
with other chemicals, such as creatine.
While losing weight should not be your main concern
during pregnancy, there is nothing wrong with watching your weight.
Making healthy choices during pregnancy will make weight loss that
much easier after your baby is born. Diet or protein shakes can
be part of those healthy choices by giving your body some of the
nutrients it needs without too many extra calories.
