Being on Your Feet All Day While Pregnant

Most
pregnant women can continue their normal day-to-day routines without
any problems. This includes their work activities. Of course some
jobs may present more dangers to a pregnant woman, such as those
that require heavy lifting or expose the woman to dangerous chemicals.
If you have a job that puts your pregnancy at risk, then you may
need to change responsibilities for a period of time.
Even if your job requires you to be on your feet
all day long, there is no need to put in a letter of resignation.
It is perfectly safe for pregnant women to stand for extended periods
of time. You may find that you become uncomfortable sooner than
you would otherwise, but there are things you can do to alleviate
the problem. When standing for long periods, make sure that you
move around every few hours. This will help to ease any muscle tension
that you may be experiencing and may prevent your feet and legs
from becoming swollen.
The shoes you wear can either help you to sustain
or cause you to tire sooner. Wearing comfortable shoes may be more
beneficial to you than ever now that you are carrying extra weight.
So dress for comfort first and fashion second during these child
bearing months and you will find that you can be on your feet all
day long just as you were before conception.
