Tis
that time of year again! People are decking the halls with
boughs of holly, roasting chestnuts on an open fire, and dashing
through the snow! It is also time to cover the ground beneath
your Christmas tree with toys and generous gifts. If you’re
out holiday shopping for toddlers, then you know what a huge
deal stores make out of this holiday! There are toys galore,
all the traditional ones and more that are developed each
year.
Holiday shopping for toddlers can be a stressful experience
if you don’t know exactly what it is you’re looking
for. Simply browsing through the options will leave you bombarded
with more choices than you ever imagined! Whether you are
the parent or a close family member or friend, here are some
tips to help you successfully complete your holiday shopping
for toddlers:
· First of all, pick a price range that you are willing
to spend. Cap your holiday shopping for toddlers at, say $20,
and stick to it.
· If want to give a toy, consider the age of the child
you are shopping for. Always read labels and make sure they
are at the appropriate age level. At this age, children are
developing motor skills and like to imitate adults. They love
to push buttons, pull or twist knobs, push or pull things
with wheels, build blocks and fill up containers, then dump
them out! Anything that requires a little physical activity
will be a big hit, rather than something that is simply meant
to look at.
· Popular toys for toddlers are: singing toys, toys
with buttons to push, shape sorters, pull and push toys or
blocks.
· Holiday shopping for toddlers also involves thinking
of the parent. What are they most in need of? Ways to entertain
their active toddler during car trips? Things to help calm
their child during bedtime? Fun bath toys or more books for
bedtime?
· Since this is the age when children are growing very
rapidly, it is also very helpful to give clothing. Ask for
the size of the child. It’s a good idea to buy something
for next season at a size or two bigger.
· Giving classic Christmas videos or books is a great
idea.
Holiday shopping for toddlers will be a blast, if you let
it, because the items are so adorable and cute! You just have
to have an idea of what you want to give. Have a price range,
and enjoy browsing!
