With
a little creativity and a big imagination you can create a
special, fun-filled day for your toddler’s birthday.
Whether you choose to have a simple, low-key celebration or
a grand and exciting party, your child is sure to enjoy the
special attention that he receives. Below you will find a
few toddler birthday ideas to spark your imagination and get
your creative juices flowing.
If you’re not the party type, a simple, fun-filled
day that focuses on your child makes for some fantastic birthday
memories. You could plan a special trip to the zoo or an amusement
park. A movie day is also appropriate for a toddler who loves
films. Make it special by going all out with popcorn, soda
pop and candy. For a fun-filled, party-free day just choose
a place that your child will enjoy and make a special day
of it. You could even invite a friend or two for him to play
with.
If you believe that it’s just not a birthday without
a party, then start planning early for the most fun. Themed
parties are so much fun for little ones, but they do take
some preparation beforehand if you want to carry them out
smoothly. Some fun themes for toddlers include: princesses,
farm animals, dinosaurs, cowboys or their favorite cartoon
character. Decorate around your theme to create the atmosphere
that you are going for. You can even send themed invitations,
play themed party games and give themed party favors. You
can make them yourself if you are super creative or you can
buy them at a party store.
When you have a fun theme for your toddler’s birthday
celebration, you can begin working on the invitations. Making
fun and original invitations that coincide with your theme
is a great way to show would-be guests what a great time they
will have at the party. If you don’t have the time or
inclination to create your own, party stores offer plenty
of theme-based invitations. Create a list of the people you
would like to invite. If you let your toddler help with the
list, she will feel even more a part of the celebration. Make
sure to send them out early. Three weeks before the party
will give your guests ample time to prepare for the special
day, but not so much time that they will forget.
Once you have sent out the invitations, it’s time to
start planning the games. Toddlers enjoy being active and
anything planned around that fact is sure to entertain them
and get all of their wiggles out at the same time. Traditional
party games like pin the tail on the donkey and musical chairs
are fun favorites for a reason. Toddlers of all ages love
them. For a creative twist, let the children enjoy creating
something of their own. Paper bag puppets or paper plate masks
are always fun.
Whatever you decide to do to celebrate your little one’s
special milestone, his birthday is sure to be one that he
won’t soon forget. In fact, he will surely be looking
forward to the next birthday as soon as the current one is
finished! Once you start to get your creative.
