What could be more fun than seeing your toddler’s eyes
light up at the sight of Santa Claus? Children are what Christmas
is all about. Celebrating with them somehow makes the season
more meaningful and memorable. Toddlers and Christmas go hand-in-hand
for a season full of cheerful giving and childhood bliss.
You can make the holiday season so much fun for your little
one by allowing him to join in on the holiday traditions.
Let him be a part of every aspect from shopping to decorating
and even baking. Your toddler will love displaying his creativity
when you allow him to help decorate the Christmas tree. For
even more fun, you could help him to create his own decorations.
These precious ornaments will be holiday treasures for years
to come.
In the midst of all of the decorating fun, you can teach
your little one an important lesson about giving. Instead
of creating a Christmas list of all of their deepest desires,
help them to create a list of gifts that they would like to
give. You might want to give them a couple of names that they
can choose a gift for. Young children are natural givers and
may want to give to more than you could possibly afford. But,
allowing them to pick out a gift for their siblings and grandparents
is a fun way to involve them in the holiday shopping. For
a fun project, you might even consider helping them to make
a gift to give to loved ones. They will love giving it away
as much as they do making it.
While doing all of this decorating and shopping, don’t
forget to fill the air with lots of Christmas music. Teach
your toddlers all of the traditional Christmas carols. It
is fun for them and will fill your heart with joy as well.
Beware though; it may be hard to get them to stop singing
when the holiday is over!
Toddlers and Christmas are such a fun combination! Maybe
it is because at this age, you can see these small children
beginning to understand how everything works. Take advantage
of your child’s inquisitive nature. This young age is
a great time to start family traditions. Christmas caroling
and service projects are fun traditions that your little one
will look forward to year after year. Other interesting ideas
include secret Santa, storytelling and decorating Christmas
cookies. With a little creativity you will come up with traditions
that fit your family and their particular style.
There is nothing more fun than toddlers and Christmas. Watching
their eyes light up as they begin to understand that the presents
under the tree are for them and that they have something fun
inside is a treat in itself. Those are the most fun gifts
to give and the most memorable too.
